Living in a strata community can be enjoyable because it alleviates many of the chores normally associated with home ownership and thus provides owners with more free time.

On the other hand, this lifestyle requires greater cooperation amongst the community and encompasses certain limitations as defined by the Strata Corporation Bylaws, Rules and the Strata Property Act of British Columbia.

Further to this, owner participation remains an integral and legal requirement to govern the responsibilities of the strata corporation. In many situations, the quality and prosperity of a complex has a direct relationship to owner participation. As an example of this, attendance at Annual General Meetings is essential for owners to participate in planning the strata corporation's future and the election of the strata council.
